Q & A
I suffer from severe arthritis so it's very difficult for me to get out
of the house. It would assist me greatly if one of ASC's advisers could visit
me at home?
We are happy to make home visits where it is necessary, depending on individual
circumstances.
How do you get paid for the work you do? Do you demand a fee?
This depends on what we are being asked to do. Occasionally we may charge a small
fee. Usually we are paid on a commission basis and this means that clients do not
have to pay anything up front.
What sort of experience do you have at ASC?
We have many years experience of the industry between us and this has given us a
very broad base of knowledge. It is this knowledge that our clients rely on to help
make them the right decisions.
When your car breaks down you seek out the help of a reliable mechanic. When you
are ill you call a doctor. It's exactly the same with financial issues. You
should always seek the best advice you can get from a trained professional, independent
specialist.
I find it very difficult to put money away each week and save for the future.
Can you help me to reverse this situation?
Yes – we have many clients in the same position. There are a number of simple
ways to put away money for a rainy day, ranging from Individual Savings Accounts
(ISAs) and other safe investments. Please call us. Your future is our concern.
I'm not getting any younger and I really need to draw up a last will and
testament. Can you help me?
Certainly. We have an inexpensive will-making service. We would always recommend
that you seek trained people for this purpose. We would also caution our clients
not to leave this process to the last minute. You can make a will at any age and
can easily change it if your circumstances change.
I have small inheritance and as I get older I want to make my future more secure
by investing this amount wisely. How should I go about this?
There are many ways to achieve this goal and we would strongly urge you to seek
professional, independent advice so that you can avoid any pitfalls and have the
full range of options at your fingertips.
I am in my late 20s and wondering whether to start a pension. Can you advise
me?
If you're thinking of starting a pension we would suggest that you put into
it a minimum of 10 per cent of your income. Pensions are long-term investments and
have special rules applying to them. Before taking one out you have top consider
many factors such as your age, your attitude to risk and the money you have available.
The best advice we can give to anyone who is considering starting a pension or any
other investment is to seek professional, independent advice right at the outset.
We advise individuals, families and business clients on a daily basis and understand
how to maximise the benefits of financial commitments. We also know the dangers
of acting without proper advice.
